 God is Our Glory

“…you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high” (Psalm 3:3)

“To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).

May our lives bring God glory

May our memorial services bring God glory

May people who know us

Can point to

God in us

as they see God’s work in us

Christ in us the hope of glory

God’s glory

Revealed in our lives

Revealed through our lives

May people laude God’s work

His miracles

His wonderful work

In us

In transforming us

To become His image-bearers

Where Christ is manifested in how we

Love

Care

Live

Give

Forgive

Believe

Sacrifice

Consider others better than ourselves

Are generous with our

Care

Time

Heart

Finances

Resources

Are gracious people who

Forgive continually not taking on offenses

Give others second and third chances

Always encourage others

See others through God’s eyes

Empower others to live out Christ in them

Being role-models of

Life lived for Christ

Life poured out for Jesus

Considering God’s heart and desires over our own

Our hearts being close to God’s

Our hearts conformed to Christ’s heart

Our hearts molten and united with Jesus’ heart

To love

To live

To forgive

To sacrifice

Being full of grace

God’s grace

Being able to love God because He first loved us

Being able to love ourselves with Christ’s love

Being able to love others with Jesus’ love

A libation of our life as an act of worship

Daily and continually

May Christ be glorified in our lives

May the Name of Jesus be lifted high through our lives

May God’s glory be seen in our lives

May this be our desire

Our ultimate aim

Jesus Will Do Whatever We Ask in His Name

“…whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it” (John 14: 12b-14).

Jesus promised that He would do

Whatever we ask

In His name

So that the Father may be glorified

In the Son

Not a blank check of promise

It is a promise with some key conditions

That we do not misuse His name for our selfish desires

We do not get to slap on Jesus’ name

when we demand blessings

We do not get to manipulate God into

giving us what we are asking for

Even if it is for “godly causes”

Healing

Comfort

Salvation

Provision

Protection

Deliverance

Effectiveness in ministry

Jesus gave this promise as He was leaving earth

to return to the Father

Jesus’ followers are to continue His work

To do even greater works than Jesus did

The works of Jesus is to do the work of God

To believe

To do justly

To love mercy

To walk in humility

Feed the hungry

Give drink to the thirsty

Show hospitality to stranger

Clothe the naked

Look after the sick

Visit the imprisoned

To look after the orphans and widows

To do good to the foreigners

To look after the needy

To give to the poor

Heal

Train

Teach

Correct

Comfort

Share God’s Good News

Deliver those in bondage

To be God’s

Ears

Eyes

Feet

Heart

Hands

Mouthpiece

When we pray in Jesus’ name

According to His will

Jesus will answer our prayers

When we pray in alignment with God’s will

The Son is glorified in the Father

The Father is glorified in the Son

We are invited into this glorious adventure

When we pray in Jesus’ name

In accordance to God’s will
